The One Back Facebook Game

I’ve mentioned before that I work with college students. Working with them is one of the best parts of my job. They remind me not to get old too fast, but also that I’ve come a damn long way in the last few years. Remember, the 10 things college kids just don’t get? Yeah, they are still rocking leggings as pants on the daily.

Either way, the students always find a way to make me laugh and today, I’m going to share with you something I’m fairly sure they invented but I will now take credit for: The One Back Game.

The One Back Game - Facebook

Every Monday night we have a meeting and each Monday, we play this game.

Here’s how you play:

If you click on “photos of ______” and then instead of clicking the right (forward) button, you click the left (backwards) button, you stumble upon the first photo the person put on Facebook. The results are glorious. We die laughing each week and even though they probably enjoy it more than I do (because, you know, they socialize together and stuff and I’m basically just their “resource”), it’s one of my favorite parts of my week.

I don’t know why this never occurred to me to do and it makes Facebook stalking a lot more fun. The longer the person has had Facebook, the funnier it is. I think most people forget how long they’ve had Facebook and how many hilarious and embarrassing pictures there are of them. My first photo is from the first week of college circa 2006.

I’ve since taken to playing this game whenever I’m a little bored. Trust me, it’ll get some laughs so try not to snarf your afternoon coffee in front of your boss. Hopefully this will help some of you get through this Monday afternoon. Enjoy!

  • This is amazing. Currently beginning to do this to everyone I know.

  • ……… and I’ve deleted many a photos over the years because of this game. Haha!

  • Haha! This is amazing! I just did this to myself and did a little cringe. Let’s just say 10th grade wasn’t the best age for me fashion wise. Haha. Must do this to everyone I know now!

    xoxo

  • hhhaha awesome. I love Facebook stalking

  • Ugh, I just went “One Back” on my photos and all it did was remind me how young I used to be!! 🙂

  • I know for a fact I have some embarrassing photos of me still on Facebook from back in highschool!

  • O.M.G. I just went back and looked at my first Facebook picture… wow. I definitely plan on doing this to the rest of my friends just about every time I am bored!

  • I used to do this ALL the time. PURE GOLD.

  • this is how I always look at facebook pictures! best game ever!

  • haha my friends and I do this all the time! one of my friends has used it to literally “like” every single picture of me that she could. waaayy too many notifications, but still absolutely hilarious! Taking Facebook stalking to a whole new level, love it!

  • oh man, I’ve deleted many, many, many photos over the years since I got on Facebook in 2006. I wish I could know what that first photo was! But whatever it was, I’m sure it’s better off not being available for public consumption, especially now that I know this game is a thing! X)

  • Hahaha, I’m pretty sure I played this game before. There was this big article on Mashable about Facebook turning 10 years old and a reminder that we have 10 years old photos so I instantly got embarrassed and deleted a ton of albums and private a few. Sooo happy I got rid of those pictures!

  • I’ve never heard of this game.. but I will definitely be trying it asap!

  • c’mon – not gonna share your pic?

  • Samantha

I wish pictures would show up from when I first had it in 2005! I guess we didn’t have more than a profile picture back then but I would love to see those too!

  • I might give this a try

  • Ha! What an excellent idea! My FB induction was in 2006, as well, during my sophomore year of college.

  • I love this game! It is the best way to look through somebody’s profile.
