My Makeup Routine – Keeping it Simple

You probably figured this by now, but I’m more of a drugstore makeup kind of gal. I just can’t wrap my head around spending much more than $5-10 on a beauty product. I’ve also been buying the same few products for several years now. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, right?

Unfortunately, I’ve also been cursed with having Rosacea (for years i thought it was acne but nope, Rosacea. How old am I?). The derm has instructed me to only use everything-free products on my face. No oils, no fragrances, nothing. So I head down to ULTA to pick up some fancy stuff for my face (as my wallet cries).

So after priming my face with some CeraVe (great  stuff, try it), here is what i throw on (usually at red lights on my way to work):

1. L’oreal Voluminous Mascara – $7 ish 2. Covergirl Perfect Point Eyeliner – $4.50
3. Tarte Provacateur Pressed Powder w/ SPF 8 – $30 🙁

And if I may take a second to rave, this Covergirl eyeliner is every bit as good as the expensive stuff. It goes on easy and smooth and comes in flattering shades. I have it in chestnut, charcoal, and black!

I guess you can’t really call my makeup routine even remotely fancy. If I’m feeling sassy (or I look like death), I’ll add a little blush or some neutral/browns eyeshadow. Always straight from the drugstore, usually with a coupon.

Am I the only person who feels like too much makeup just makes me look, well, not like me? So I keep it simple, cause I guess I’m okay with the me that I see in the mirror (well…most days).

What drugstore beauty products can you not live without?
