Hey guys, I am Amanda from Denim & Daydreams and I am taking over for Nadine today!
Since Winter has hit us in the Northeast full force I wanted to share some of my wintertime essentials. Having grown up in New England and attended college in Upstate New York, freezing cold and snow is no stranger to me. I have learned for your skin, hair and style to survive these harsh months, there are a few things you must have.
J Crew sweatshirts hoody / 3 1 Phillip Lim double breasted peacoat, / Gilligan & O’Malley low socks / H&M heel booties, / Plush fingerless mitten / Zara Checked Knitted Scarf With Fringes / NARS Cosmetics lips makeup / Burt s Bees lip treatment, / Body moisturizer / Bumble and Bumble curly hair care, / Bumble and Bumble hair shampoo, / Beauty product
one. Gentle shampoo and a super moisturizing conditioner. Weather has such major effects on hair that we don’t even notice until it’s too late. I love the Bumble & Bumble line. It smells amazing and the conditioner can double as a hair mask if you leave it in longer!
two. A classic winter coat. I love to have tons of details, patterns and colors in my wardrobe, but a classic black peacoat will never go out of style. Plus, it is super easy to dress up or down!
three. Is there anything worse than chapped lips? I will forever have about 57 chapsticks, only to avoid the chance I could need one and not have one. I also have vowed to wear lipstick this winter to add some color to my forever pale face.
four. Speaking of moisturizing (I am sensing a theme here)..I am addicted to cuticle creme and body lotion all year round, but especially in the winter. The scent of the Burts Bees creme is so fresh and light.
five. Shoes are key in the winter. I love Uggs as much as the next girl but sometimes you just have to step up your game! I will forever have a pair of ankle booties like the ones above in my closet. They can be worn with literally anything.
six. Cute and functional mittens are especially important so we can feed our social media addiction. I mean how am I supposed to Instagram my winter outfits if I can’t use my touchscreen, right?!
seven. Cute yet warm sweaters. I have about 95 hoodies between Syracuse, my sorority and all the sports teams I love. As much as I love to cozy up in a sweatshirt, some occasions just don’t call for them. A cute sweater or a jeweled sweatshirt would absolutely do the trick to jazz up an outfit while still keeping you toasty in the sub-zero temps.
eight. Warm socks. Something needs to keep your toes cold in those adorable boots! I love extra tall ones too that I pull up over my leggings. Warm, cozy and pretty adorable!
nine. A warm yet chic scarf. If you are alive you have noticed the explosion of scarves, especially in blogland. I love a big, warm and patterned scarf. I add a scarf to any outfit for that extra layer of warmth and style
Thanks for letting me be part of your Saturday!
