BluePrint Cleanse Review

BluePrint Cleanse Review

The BluePrint Cleanse.
Let’s just start by saying that I did this cleanse the same way I would do any other diet.
Spur of the moment and half-assed.

At about 8:45pm on Monday night, I booked it to Whole Foods to pick up all of the juices I’d need to do the 3 day cleanse.
Only they didn’t have 3 days worth.
So my cleanse became a 2 day cleanse.
Sign from God? I think so.

So it’s pretty clear that I didn’t do any of the pre-cleanse prep work.
For a few days before your cleanse you are supposed to, wait for it…
wean yourself off of coffee…I’ll wait while we all finish having a chuckle.
Then you are supposed to eat more fruits and vegetables,
remove meat from your diet (done), and try to eat less processed foods.
So there you have it. I started off by failing.

I chose the beginner cleanse, called the Renovation.

And then the cleanse began. Within one gulp I knew I’d made a huge mistake.
You see, the blog world has very rarely steered me wrong.
If one of you recommends a hair product, I’ll buy it.
If someone tells me this recipe is great, I’ll try it.
(now I’m a rapper)

So I was astounded to find that all of those bloggers who said
the green juice was “good” “pleasant” “zesty” or even “delicious” were
no good dirty rotten stinking LIARS.

The green juice is disgusting. There, I said it. It’s horrible.
It tastes like salad in a blender. For all of you who just went…umm duh, it is…well someone (me) didn’t realize that it really would taste exactly that way.
I’m just not one of those girls who ever orders a salad without dressing so this came as quite a shock to the taste buds.

The day went on with the Pineapple Apple Mint (my bff P.A.M., she rocks), then another green juice (vom), then came the Beet juice. Now if I thought the green juice was bad, the beet juice mix (which was dark red) was a whole new low. As I was drinking it I just kept thinking,
“oh my God, if I projectile vomit this up, I’ll look like a vampire.”

Let it be known that somewhere in between here I got the worst headache in history. Coffee needs to from henceforth be considered a part of my body, not a beverage.

Sometime in here I also began to have intense daydreams about cheese.
Thought process went a little something like this all afternoon:
  • Send and email to so-and-so
  • Cheese
  • Cheese with Macaroni
  • Reply to email
  • Orange powdered Kraft Macaroni and Cheese
  • Email…but wait
  • GOUDA
  • or even…HAVARTI
  • Oh good god, I can’t stop. I’d even eat Swiss.
  • CHEESE. HOW I MISS THEE.
After that came the Lemonade with Cayenne pepper. Some people said it was too spicy. I say they’re wusses. It was yummy but nutritionally, I don’t really see the point of it.

At the end of the night, they give you the real treat, the Cashew milk drink. Man that stuff is good. It’s so thick that it almost feels like your eating real food. I savored every drop.

So there you have it. The logistics.
Continue to page 2 for how I felt during the cleanse and the RESULTS.

  • nononono no juice cleanses! They are so bad for your body and there is no science/research/proof behind them! My friends were doing them so I did a ton of reading on juice cleanses and was horrified by what I found. I recommend reading “It Starts With Food” and then looking into the Whole 30 if you want to try something!
    🙂

    • Well true to form, I did zero research but what a read in the blog world. I figure two days of it can’t do too much damage. I did feel really good and I was never hungry but I probably wouldn’t try it again.

  • hahaha i appreciate the honesty! i’ve wanted to try a cleanse for a while now….beet jucie sounds horrifying though!

    • Honestly, save your money and just do like 3 days of eating only fruits, veggies, and nuts and drinking water. I swear it would be the exact same thing.

    • Hi Nadine. I was thinking of doing the Blue Print Cleanse but it’s so expensive and I doubt that it would work for me. DO you thinking just eating fruits, avocado, nuts, cucumbers, and veggies for a week would be the same thing?

  • whoa girl, now i don’t want to try a cleanse. I like juicing fruits and veggies for like a meal replacement…but a whole two days of it? I would be a lunatic to try that now!

    • Yeah it definitely wasn’t my best idea ever. I still feel great today even though I had a burrito bowl for lunch. I think my skin does look really good though but I think my body was just actually getting enough hydration and vitamins.

  • bleh, that is all I can say…bleh 🙂

    • I’m right there with you. Bleh. Don’t try it.

  • Props to you for sticking with it as long as you did.. because I wouldn’t have lasted more than one sip if the juice tasted like salad with no dressing. No thanks!

    • Exactly. Salad without the dressing is yucky. I think I’d be into juicing if it was a meal supplement, like instead of a vitamin. But not as a meal replacement.

  • haha I’ve seen that juice and even the color just made me stay away! You lasted longer definitely than I would have.

  • You are brave to even try this! I am so horrible at any kind of diet, I literally can’t stick with them for 2 days. I have never had Cashew Milk but I have had Almond Milk and it was ok!

  • Jen

This is literally the best thing I’ve read this week. I am legitimately laughing out loud at work. I stumbled across your blog searching for a review of the cashew juice (I had a coupon and bought White and P.A.M), and will definitely be a repeat reader. Thanks for the good read 🙂

  • Thank you for making me laugh during my first day of The Blue Print 3 Day Cleanse!!! I have yet to taste the “red” one and I’m already dreading it!!! The first greeen I had was so so, but I think it was because it was super cold and all i couldn’t taste was lemon and parsley. But when I had the second green my gag reflectes started screaming at me to get to the nearest garbage can or lose it all over my bosses’s shoes!!!
I have a super headache from hell and since I’ve broken the seal.. I can’t stop running to the bathroom to pee!!! UGHHHHHH! WHY??????? Did you lose any weight from doing the cleanse? I’ve heard some have lost weight… I’m doing it to restart a healthy diet.. I’ve been processed food crazy!!! Again.. thank you.

  • I just completed a 4 day cleanse using the BluePrint Cleanse juices. Not only did I love all of the juices, I lost 15 pounds and I feel like it reset my body physically and mentally. I personally prepared myself by drinking green juices from the local Robeks every other day for about a week or so. Oddly enough the Lemonade was the toughest one to drink for me, specially since it has cayenne pepper in it. My experience was so great that I went out and purchase a quality juicer and I have been making green juice at least once a day since coming off of my 4 day cleanse. I actually have all of the BluePrint Cleanse recipes, so I’ll just make them myself going forward. Well that’s my two cents.

  • I know this is unrelated, but where’d you get that iPhone case? I love it!

Oh no! I am sorry you had this experience! I did the BPC a few months ago to get back on track after having mono (yuck). In order to survive everyday and make it through being a full time student I was eating BAD. Lots of carbs and lots of coffee.

I did the prep work for the 3-day Foundation cleanse (no beet juice, yay!). The prep was THE WORST. Oh my goodness I was so grumpy without caffeine, everyone hated me. I did the cleanse and FELT AMAZING. My skin had never been so clean. I had never slept so good. My stomach hadn’t been that flat in god knows how long and I didn’t even have the urge to grab a coffee!

The BPC was a life changer for me. It was a way to get back on track and jump start a lifestyle change that I desperately needed. I lost about 5 pounds on the 3 day cleanse even though the goal wasn’t to lose weight. Ever since then I have been a new person.

I encourage you to not be discouraged!

    Green drink

I bought the 3 day cleanse and I only made it through 3 of the juices and returned the rest. It was so awful! I thought I was going to vomit after every sip haha

  • I’m about to start a one-day (yeah I’m a wuss) on Blueprint, and now I’m afraid of the green juice!

I literally laughed out loud at this blog. I just ordered my first ever BPC, and im starting with just the one day just to see if i can handle it. Plus I dont want to spend more than $65 which is already crazy. So i probably wont see much difference, but we’ll see. I’m still trying to figure out the directions for this cleanse. Hopefully they will include them. Thanks for you opinion!
