A little cuteness for your Friday

No, not me.
But we’ll get to the cuteness, I promise.

Last night I had a work event at a local brewery.
And let me tell you, it is much easier to be in a loud bar if you are the one drinking.
Since it was more of an established crowd (read: middle aged),
I opted for a professional but sightly trendy.

Blazer: Trina Turk via Goodwill, $7.50
Tank: Gap Outlet, $4.99
Jeans: BDG via Goodwill, $5.00
Shoes: Marshalls years ago, don’t remember

Here’s the thing.
I thought a well tailored blazer was supposed to make you look thinner.
But when I look at these pictures, I feel like it does the opposite.
Maybe it’s because I left it open?

In other news, check out that center part.
How do you feel about center parts?
I was always a deep side part girl myself
until I realized that my cowlicks on either side make it nearly impossible.
After years of fighting it, I opted for off center but not too deep.
But this week?
Dead center.

On the life front,
Naveed and I cannot agree on a dog name.
Like At. All.

Oh hey there, I’ll just chill here until you two agree on a name.

He has a secret strategy he uses and it goes like this:
I suggest a perfectly wonderful name, like Henry.
Or Mosby (#HIMYM).
And he shoots it down immediately.
I then accuse him of not even considering any of my names.

And here’s his move:
He then suggests a name that is SO COMPLETELY RIDICULOUS
that there is NO WAY he thinks I would ever agree to name the dog that.

Like Hector.
Or Chauncey. Yes, Chauncey.
(Not even a dog name. Like, at all.)
And I am so horrified by the suggestion that I say
ABSOLUTELY NOT.
So he accuses me of not taking any of his names seriously.
Do you see what I have to work with, people?
It’s madness over here.
But really, it’s hilarious.
And silly.
We are definitely enjoying it quite a bit.

This one might be ours, it might not. Either way, I couldn’t NOT share.

Right now, I’m all about Walter.
I love old man names.
I just do.
Let me get it out of my system before I have actual children.

Homeboy right there in the front is a future ballerina with those sweet moves.

He is dead set on Flynn.
I think it sounds like a hipster name.
Like Flynn should have a sister named Harper or Sparrow.
The only one we kind of sort of maybe agree on is
Rupert.

How is this comfortable? How?

Our breeder sends out pictures every week of the pups.
So aside from looking at the webcam all day long,
(No seriously, every 10 minutes)
We also get lots of updates with photos, videos (they squeak!) and a weight chart.

If you are worried that the future of my blog is just me gushing about my dog,
your worry is justified.
I can’t get enough.

Too much cuteness for one post?
I think so.
Happy Friday!

xoxo
  • I might have to quit reading your blog if you don’t name your puppy Walter. Like, pleasepleasepleasepleaseplease do.

re: center part: every couple of months, I have an identity crisis. Dead center. A little off center. Deep side. I CANNOT DECIDE.

  • Walter is adorable. but I like Flynn too! and yes to the blazer thing! I always feel kinda chubby in mine, but I can’t button it over my [giant] boobs, so I’m stuck. lame.

  • I love Rupert!!! You guys will decide on something. Those pups are so cute it probably doesn’t even matter what you name them they will still be the cutest things ever!

  • OMG I die. These pictures are amazing. Here is the thing… Goldens can have stupid names because they are so goofy and cute. How about something so totally ridiculous that its cute? Our 2nd choice was Clyde. I also liked Bowie, Howie, Moose. Have fun with it. We decided on Bosley long before we picked him out. Also, you will call him by a nickname (we call him Boz). I promise when its gets closer to getting him, you will have a name picked out 🙂

  • Never too much cuteness when it comes to puppies. I never knew I could love an animal so much until I got Bronx. You will love being a puppy mom…no matter what his name is!!

  • Walter!!! I really love that name. Then you could nickname him Walt, as in Disney:)

AHHHH that is soo much cuteness for one morning.

  • aww, they are SO cute! we named our pup henry! i am such a sucker for old man names. oh, and i may or may not be taking weekly pictures similar to those mommmy blogger baby posts. what! (i swear i’m not crazy!) what about huck? kind of a henry/hector combo? also, check out nameberry.com (it’s for babies, but i used it for dog naming..ha) good luck!

  • I like all the names you both have picked out. If you went with Flynn He could be Flynn Ryder from the movie Tangled.

  • OMG those puppies are SO cute. I take animal names so seriously! It defintes them! Also, I love the name Walter for a puppy and adult dog – adorable

  • I want a golden retriever so badly I can’t stand it. And I LOVE old man names. Seriously love them. Rufus was the name of one of my iPods, and my external harddrive became Abner. 😛

I love Walter and Henry the most. For sure.

  • Loving your outfit and how cute are the puppies. Love your blog and I am your newest follower. xo

  • I can’t get over how cute those babies are. Love your outfit also.. I’m obsessed with blazers! Have a great weekend 🙂

  • You definitely look cute in your tailored blazer. And as for parts, I tend to go with a side part. I decided in 6th grade side parts are the way for me to go. I looked at my middle part in my 5th grade pictures and never turned back. I now have a permanent side part.

On to more exciting things: How cute are those puppies?! I just wanna rub my face all in ’em. ‘Cept I’d have an allergy attack. SO CUTE! When you find the right name, you’ll know. Keep trying and best of luck!

  • omg cutest puppies ever. i have a five years old golden retriever myself, and i just love that breed. and i believe they are truly the best dogs on earth 🙂

ps: im a new follower 🙂
