7 Style Tips for a Cozy Winter

Hi everyone! My name is Lena and I blog over at this lovely little day. I like to write about style, recipes, diy & craft projects, art, travel, and all of the things that I think make each day a bit lovelier… Basically, things that make me happy. 🙂

About Me

I don’t know about you guys but in the winter months I really struggle with staying motivated when it comes to style. When I wake up to fresh piles of white fluff, the last thing I want to do is dress up… Mostly I just want to crawl into a hoodie and sweats, or back into my bed – whichever seems closer! Haha

So I am going to share my go-to tips & wardrobe must-haves to keep you feeling both stylish and comfy in these cold cold months!

1. Scarves… I always think this seems obvious and I am always surprised when someone says something like “You ALWAYS have the cutest scarves!” In reality, I probably rotate the same few every day though. This past week I learned how to arm knit and made a post about it! I made 3 in one weekend so if you find yourself short on warm knits you can learn how! It is ridiculously easy! 🙂

2. Fleece lined leggings. These is a new trend this season, before now I was always too cold to wear my leggings anywhere but in the gym.. Now there are fleece-lined versions out everywhere and they pair perfectly with a long top or dress!

Leggings and Beanie

3. Hats & beanies. I never think about wearing hats in the winter until I see someone else rocking an adorable beanie. But they are really a great option to keep you warm! {Psst: And if you didn’t feel like going out in the cold with icicles for hair after showering you could always hide those pretty locks until your next wash!}

4. Oversized sweaters. I have been known for wearing oversized cardigans quite a bit in the winter months. I am now at the point where I will reach for a sweater long before a sweatshirt! I like to thrift my sweaters but if I can’t find anything at local vintage shops, Urban Outfitters and Forever21 are always a safe bet!

5. Fashionable coats. Most days I walk around in my marshmallow coat when I am on my way to class. But on the days when I want to look really nice I have a fashionable coat to wear. It is always good to have one on hand for parties or job interviews!

6. Adorable mittens. My hands are always cold in the winter months. I used to think that mittens were dorky but now I know that they are not only really cute, but they keep my fingers warmer than their glove counterparts! My roommate makes mittens and sells them on her etsy shop and I love all of them!

7. Pops of color. This is always the easiest way to keep things fun in the winter. A lot of the time I find myself gravitating to neutrals, but I always feel brighter and happier when I wear a fun color! It only takes 1 piece to liven up a whole outfit!

Wishing you a lovely little day!
